#OG15!

These are 2 cards drawn for my lovely lovely OGLs, Yuan Jun and Ryo!
(done with markers, half an A4 sized paper)

I wanted to draw something relevant to them, something that they would relate to and at the same time, find it interesting~

So, since Yuan Jun does History, I imitated a Mao propaganda poster for his card- changing 毛主席 to YUANJUN and the face to his as well. As for Ryo, I really didn't know what I could draw for him, so I decided to do pop art! I drew his face and did some various designs at the side, to make it look more colorful. Haha.

I'm really glad they liked it :DDDD

150112. simple plan.

this was my first experience at a concert,

and a first experience at shooting in a concert.

really, it was pure madness.

i tried really hard trying to shoot and at the same time enjoy myself.

it was difficult, and i did eventually give up on shooting people.

i really should get my basics on photog back on track.

i can't seem to focus well on my subjects when everything's pitch dark during the concert.

but, the lights and the effect it has on the photos were awesome.

don't you think so?

FOR A FRIEND

For this, I drew with some permanent markers on a transparent iPhone cover!
The pokemon(s) had to be drawn inverted since I wanted to draw inside the cover; so that the drawing would not be subjected to wear and tear so easily.

Haha, my weird method! Get a rough composition for the overall look, then proceed to draw the characters on white paper with a marker, flip it over to see it's inverted look and copy in onto the cover. After the drawing's done, I sprayed it with fixative~

The shadows are remarkably stunning~

I have been watching a whole lot of movies these days, feeling pretty lost and aimless. Kinda wasted those weeks on some really terrible shows, sigh. I'm starting on a new project! I just realized how little I draw, in comparison to others. I really need to practice, but why am I so so lazy. Sigh.

Futurism

I got hooked up by Cubism and Futurism when it presented me so many unknowns and different perspectives while I did my S3 assignment based on Marcel Duchamp’s Nude Descending A Staircase 1912.

To work on Futurism was entirely a random chose, but after I work on it, I somehow found out why fate made me choose it. It was too alike to my preferences, and it plays with a lot of elements I particularly love. Also, Futurism is similar to a photography, where it overlaps the still images together to present a moving still.

It's also lovely, on how it's abstraction make the piece breathtaking at sight.
The lines, shapes as well :D

The S3 assignment

Depicting NY girls doing NanZhongQuan; I would probably rework on another Futurist piece at the end of the year as I'm not satisfied with this. While working on, I was too focused on making it alike to a Futurist style, but somehow forgot the most important element in a Futurist piece (movement), thus for this one above, it appears more like a flat two-dimensional painting, with so spirit of movement in it.

S3 EOY assignment

Somehow, I managed to incorporate the element of movement into this piece as well, where the shadow slowly evolves into a bird. Though I'm not contented with the skill I rendered for this piece, I like the concept pretty much. And as you can see (I realised it only these days, all thanks to LiYi), I unconsciously followed on this idea for my coursework. The element of leaving the background clean and white, and the concept of dreams. It is interesting to see how one's work actually evolves to another slowly over a period of time, how your skill improves, how you think differently before, how you have a similar preference previously or how you still are absorbed in a certain belief.

I wanted to continue working on something similar for coursework, and did some preparatory studies and thereafter, an original futurist piece (second one)
